Are Gore and Goretex the same?
GORE-TEX®, like WINDSTOPPER®, is a laminate, but the difference is the GORE-TEX® membrane has much smaller pores, with over nine billion pores per square inch.

Why does GORE-TEX leak?
This happens because, when DWR coatings wear off, GORE-TEX layers may: Appear wet on the outside—because the outer fabric may absorb some water. This can cause warm, humid air inside the garment to condense on the inside surface so it feels wet—like it’s leaking.
