Is the Vaillant Ecotec combi boiler still working?
The boiler (a Vaillant ecotec pro combi, see pics below) was working fine until a blackout hit my block. The blackout lasted a few hours and when the electricity came back on, the boiler turned back on as well. However, while the hot water is working fine, the heating no longer works.

The best solution my friend is to get another engineer in who is more confident with Vaillant. Sadly by removing the front cover of the boiler you break a combustion seal which is protecting you and your family from any nasty fumes the boiler may kick out. Hence It is illegal for you to remove it unless you are Gas Safe.
