What is Vitallium made of?
Vitallium is an alloy of 65% cobalt, 30% chromium, 5% molybdenum, and other substances. The alloy is used in dentistry and artificial joints, because of its resistance to corrosion. It is also used for components of turbochargers because of its thermal resistance.
What is Ticonium alloy?
Definition: Specific alloys not less than 85% chromium and nickel or cobalt, with traces of either nickel or cobalt, molybdenum, and other substances. They are used in partial dentures, orthopedic implants, etc.
What is acrylic partial denture?
Acrylic partials consist of the denture teeth attached to an acrylic base plate. They provide good stability and retention due to the denture fitting closely and tightly against the gums and natural teeth, and the use of wrought metal clasps (retainers) to grip the teeth.
Does Vitallium contain nickel?
Vitallium is a metal alloy containing chromium and cobalt but no nickel. But less expensive alloys contain nickel or other metals that are known to provoke reactions. Your dentist can contact the lab that made your partial denture and ask for information on what the denture materials contain.
