Does CerMark work on aluminum?
Q: On what materials can CerMark be used? A: Stainless steel, tool steel, brass, chrome, aircraft grade aluminum, pewter and titanium. A: CerMark will not work on trophy brass, copper, gold (10k, 14k, 18k, 24k) and silver plated gifts. Also, no clear coated or anodized metals.
What is CerMark?
CerMark is a liquid compound that allows a laser engraver to make permanent marks on metal surfaces. Instead, CerMark bonds to the surface of the metal and leaves a clean, visible mark when enough heat from the laser is applied.
Does CerMark come in different colors?
There are many CerMark products for marking metals. The only colors that can be made are black, white and copper. The white LMM 6150 and the copper is LMM 6151 only come in liquid form and must be applied by spraying.
Does CerMark work on pewter?
Laser engraving pewter requires use of CerMark metal marking coating. The engraving will be a rich, black color. The CerMark coating can be applied using the spray can or brushed on using the concentrate form. Pewter is a relatively soft metal alloy and can be easily scratched or dented.
What is CerMark made of?
CerMark is made up of inert materials, such as, finely pulverized glass and metal particles. It does not contain any heavy metals and it is cadmium-free. This simply means that it is safe to wash down the sink in the cleaning process, contact with skin will not be harmful and special ventilation is not necessary.
Can CO2 laser engrave aluminum?
CO2 laser machines can directly mark a variety of coated metals such as anodized aluminum or powder coated stainless steel. Bare metals like titanium or nickel plating can be pre-treated with a metal marking compound prior to engraving with a CO2 laser.
