How much does a Mac pass cost?
Anyone can open a MacPass account, which allows for online deposits and transaction information. MacPass stickers are currently free but will be $1 each after July 1, 2020. MacPass customers can use toll lanes designated for MacPass by the overhead signs, or any open lane.

How does a Mac Pass work?
The MACPASS transponder is a small electronic device that attaches to the windshield of your vehicle and contains information that identifies your account. As you approach a toll lane, on either the MacKay or Macdonald Bridges, an overhead antenna identifies your MACPASS transponder and deducts the toll.
Can you use EZ Pass on Mackinac Bridge?
MacPass is the only tolling transponder currently in use at the Mackinac Bridge; I-Pass, E-ZPass, SunPass, etc., though similar, are not accepted. Surveys have shown that few Mackinac Bridge customers currently use other tolling transponders. The MBA still accepts cash, credit and debit cards for tolls.

When is MACPASS no longer accepted at Mackinac Bridge?
The Mackinac Bridge Authority switched toll systems in September 2019. Although the current MacPass system does allow MacPass cards to be used they will no longer be accepted after December 31, 2020. Customers will need to get their MacPass stickers before then.
